Look into the background of the breeder ask them how long they have had Dobes themselves, if they are relatively new to the breed themselves and the litter perhaps maybe their first they would have sought advice and guidance from their breeder who in the first instance would guide them to the choice of stud dog for that particular bitch .The choice of stud dog is not about the look or his achievements but how he can improve or compliment. Far too many newcomers do not have this knowledge. All bloodlines can carry faults aswell as virtues and it is a knowledgeable breeder that will have this ability to understand why to choose the correct stud dog.If in doubt find a breeder that has been well established as there are many only too willing to offer their experience and guidance.Remember most people are looking at buying a puppy as a pet to join there family and a puppy that is well bred and healthy and from sound stock is foremost important do not assume you should not be expecting this because he is not destined for the show world.
